Absolutely not! No such measures were taken in WWI, WWII, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War; and, we had little trouble coping with those wars.
On the other hand, it wouldn't be at all difficult to single out those who pose a threat. As Ann Coulter points out, "Its probably those swarthy men of Middle-Eastern descent". It wouldn't be too difficult to secure our own borders. Those porous borders are a great deal more of a threat than my fellow citizens, I assure you.

I guess you forgot about the tens of thousands of (some several generations American) Japanese-Americans that were tossed in internment camps during World War 2.
