I don't want to say "I told you so" but I did state that I was worried this would happen. God help California. Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Saundra. I, for one, will be keeping a close eye on this. ;-)

"Orrin Hatch is one of Ted Kennedy's best friends. Are you saying, therefore, that all one has to know about Orrin Hatch is that he is friends with Ted Kennedy in order to understand his politics."
Of course she is. I'm sure Orrin's been tossed overboard long ago. Probably wouldn't even be allowed in her house.

Thank you for clearing up your position. But please if you guys do not agree on some policy or appointment, don't just defend it, make a difference. This is the only way things will ever change! To many people are to willing to accept policies that they would disagree with if it were not their candidate in office. With their candidate in office that is especially when they should make their voices heard and wishes be known on policies and other issues. Once policies are in place and no one says anything it will be much easier to push them along for another candidate. How can someone argue with a democrat just enforcing or expanding on policies that a republican candidate puts in place? Especially when no one said anything against it?

But please if you guys do not agree on some policy or appointment, don't just defend it, make a difference. Lemme say this again, slower this time:
1) I did NOT defend the appointment.
2) As a Virginian I will have vey little influence on the Governor of California.
To: Corin Stormhands
1. Many on this thread have defended it. I have seen this complacency by others with other issues, and that saddens me, because instead of making our voices heard on many issues our country has slid into complacency simply because their candidate is in office, this is not just happening in California.
2. I thought you were serious about your absentee ballot as many do have dual residences. And there was a problem with absentee ballots, since it was in court. My sis could not send hers in because of this!

I've been reading Lee's Lieutenants... Every time I hear the word Virginian, I want to snap to salute due to the sheer respect I have for that brand of warrior.

Doesn't really matter - by the term "Californians", it should have been obvious that I meant the majority of the voting public in California. :0)
I mean, the whole point of recalling Davis was because of the fiscal crisis in California - unless I'm missing something - so the people made a change in order to rectify that. THose who didnt want arnold in before the election seem to be bound and determined to undermine him before he even has a chance to try to fix the fiscal mess he's being left with, and quite frankly it disgusts me.
I don't LIKE Arnold, but I can see any point in tearing him down before he even does anything. I'd like to see everyone else give him a chance, too. Let him make an actual policy decision, and THEN criticize him for it.
By trying to tear him down now, it will be that much harder to make valid points criticizing him after he does something, because the people will just shrug it off as whining by sore losers. I'd rather that not happen.

1) Agreed. Complacency is a big problem. I just think we need to better strategerize.
2) Sorry 'bout the confusion. I have never been a resident of California, nor have I played one on TV.

I'm a trained interpreter for the deaf.Combine that skill with experience in teaching the brain dead and you've got a chance on FR these days.
We're all going to be academically challeneged in mid February to handle the spin from the mob when the economic rubber meets the road.
Keepracticing.
