You're mixing numbers. It said 6.6% of GDP, not gov't spending. It's more like 25-30% of gov't spending.
But I thought the real numbers were more like 14% of GDP.
You are right, according to
here it is 14.1% of GDP, higher than what this article states. Perhaps he meant 6.6% of the GDP was in
public health care spending. In any case the 6.6% figure not being what he claimed to be makes the entire article suspect.
