GOSH!;-- It's AMAZING How Much the Human Body can Tolerate!

Most Humans living in the "Ohio River Valley" suffer "Lung Problems" by the time they are 45 years old!

The "Bad Air" from the Coal-Fired Steel Plants is unavoidable!

A BAD situation!

THEN--of course--there are "Smokers!"

The 70+ year study of companions of "Smokers" FAILED to show ANY DIFFERENCE between those who were exposed to "second-hand Smoke," & those who were Not!!

GASP!!!

That MEANS, that "Second-hand Cigarette Smoke" had NO EFFECT on Those "Exposed to It!!"

CLEARLY the "Science" MUST BE "Incorrect!!"

After All--we All know that "second-Hand Smoke" is as DEADLY as AIDS!!

----Don't We??---

Perhaps we OUGHT To ACTUALLY CHECK the "Science."

Sometimes "Popular, Media-Driven Belief," isn't QUITE true!

Perhaps the "Anti-Smoking" Agenda isn't ENTIRELY "Altruistic???"

There's "LIES, DAMN LIES, & STATISTICS;" so WHY should ANYONE be Telling Us "The Truth??"

We're NOT STUPID; Whenever ANYONE attempts to tell Us something we already know, we OUGHT TO BE suspicious!!

OF COURSE "Smoking" isn't "Good for You--" we have known that for Decades; WHY has the "issue" become SO IMPORTANT at this time??

I Smell a "Political Agenda!!"

Political agenda,maybe,but financial agenda,definitely !!

It's all about money----by making smoking and smokers the greatest health threat on earth today they can be heavily taxed and the wimpy cigarette manufacturers can knuckle under to the law suits.

Money talks, and in this situation it is talking loudly.

I,as a smoker, wish they would ban them entirely. Dealing with the black market would be more pleasurable than dealing with the hypocrisy of the municipal and state governments.

Those are examples of abuse of power of government. Those are not examples of people empowering a government to do those things. Just because a police man shoots an innocent man with a gov't gun, does not mean we empowered him to do so. It is an abuse of power.

That would be true if the cops that abused the power were punished for their misdeeds. Instead, they are usually promoted. Therefore, these are perfect examples of the police being empowered to murder people.

Bliss' Steak Ranch Restaurant Closed 100% 100% Eugene OR "

Owner admits that recession and 9/11 were major factors in a business downturn BEFORE smoke ban enacted.

Seems his smokers deserted him BEFORE the smoking ban. hmmm

Why is it that immature children think adding "hmmmm" to their posts proves something?

Ups and downs are part of any business. Most of them are survivable. When someone is already experiencing a "down," though, an additional, artificially imposed down can be the last straw, the final thing that kills the business. Take a business that is experiencing, say, a 15% loss because of the economy. They're struggling along, surviving, but the the smoking ban gives them another 15% loss. They might have been able to survive that if they weren't already being burdened by the first loss, but when the ban hits, that's what kills them.
