....while Democrats demanded a probe of how the document fell into Republican hands. My guess is it had to be one of the Dem members of that committee.
He was "Zellmerized".

Rockefeller said he wanted to appear with Roberts on two television shows they'd been invited on to talk about building bridges between Republicans and Democrats on the panel and coming back together again. Rockefeller said Roberts agreed wholeheartedly.
Roberts extended the olive branch on the floor of the Senate yesterday when he said, The answer is simple: We go back to work. We have a documents yet to review. We have a handful of documents yet to conduct.
I urge the Democratic members of the committee to disavow this strategy of attack and join with us to work
This is the key...
Rockefeller writes the memo, "Roberts extended the olive branch"...Which one shows weakness?
The key to why Senate Republicans are worthless and why I don't give to the RNC.
With the Pat Roberts attitude there will never be a "filibuster proof" Senate, no matter how many Republicans there are.

Does anyone get it, the leadership of the dumb-o-crats will do anything including selling the U.S.A. down the river in order to get back into power.
They have no programs, no direction, no answers and no morals.
Their lust for power is all that drives them.
How sad it is for those voters who are blinded by their desire to always vote for these failed policies and their belief they are doing what is right for their party of choice.

You took the words out of my mouth. Can you imagine the Democrats, in a thousand years, letting an egregious screwup by the Republicans pass?
This is treason. Even if they don't care about the party, they should care about our country and the damage this kind of partisan scorched-earth warfare is doing to it.

This is shameful.

"I spoke to Pat on the floor and said, We've been saying things over the last 24 hours, and I think it's really important that the committee come first, country come first, post-9-11 come first. The other stuff is nothing compared to that." They should have had that attitude prior to their attempt at treason. The buck stops with Rocky, he needs to go. In fact the lot of them should be thrown out and tried for treason against the United States.
Ann Coulter pegged them in her book "Treason", they have handed in the evidence against them, themselves. The ball should be taken and run with. Democrats have no business any where near matters of national security because they are too corrupt and anti-American.
They have spent decades attempting to destroy this nation and constitution and replace it with their insane vision of a socialist paradise against all evidence to the contrary that socialism has spelled the death of every nation in history that has embraced it.
They should pay the price, prison. Upon release they should be stripped of their citizenship and deported to the socialist paradise France.
Socialism no longer has a place in this Constitutional Republic.

sniff, sniff...i think i smell an ethics violation...boot Rockefeller up the A*s and get him the f*ck out of the Senate..and while we are out it, the country as well...
Imagine if the Dems actually found a real political platform...and no, trying to take down republicans is NOT a platform

This is what I think
Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States. - United States Code Title 18 Section 2381.

Would you mind posting that on the "Rockefeller Must Resign" thread? Nice work...

I doubt if the republicans will tear off a big, ragged chunk of flesh from the 'rats but the dmage is still done for the demo's.
I think this has ended the issue as a place for them to score points against the administration. If they bring it up again, they'll risk having it thrown back in their faces and now the administration will be justified in stonewalling the committee and anything the demo's say will be tainted.
If the media tries to keep the issue alive, we need to be prepared to accuse them of having a blind eye towards the wrongdoing of partisan committee memebers with an agenda
and pursuing a witch hunt.
I think in the long runs it's better to clip their wings than to allow the demo's to replace them with someone who can start the process up again.
Even a tiny piece of flesh is delectable!

I'm very afraid that, if Rockefeller has any honor at all and if he wants to avoid further shame on his name and family, he will have to resign from the Senate. Yes, it is true!Politicians have neither "honor" nor "shame." That is why they are politicians. If you need proof of this, look at the Clintons and their pimps. They are totally void of honor and shame. It does not exist in them.

I read lots of things on FReep that make my blood boil, but this is unbelievable. The problem is, I have a difficult time sorting out with whom I am most angry, the traitor Rockefeller, or our limp-wristed Republican "leaders."
What a spinless bunch.

A sucker might be born every minute, but do all of them have to be Republican senators? My feelings exactly. Durban used Roberts as toilet paper yesterday and flushed him down the drain. Disgusting...

MEMO TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE:The Democratic Party is undermining America's abilily to wage winning the current war in Iraq while American lives are at stake, while plotting and conspiring to aid and abet America's enemy....
In other words -- The Democratic Party are Traitors, and an American 'Nuremburg Trial' needs to be established.

When was the last time ANY Democrat resigned from office because of being caught in a scandal, lying, engaging in open treason, or just plain criminal activity? These are all just opportunities to polish their resumes, doncha know.
Honor is an alien concept, even to a child of privilege like Jay Rockefeller. The family has always had so much money that it was easier to buy off critics than answer them. Check the record.
