" This strategy memo lays bare what we've started to see for some time: an orchestrated effort by Democrats at a time of war to improperly use an intelligence investigation as a weapon against President Bush, said Sen. Jon Kyl (Ariz.), chairman of the Republican Policy Committee. "
This is the key.

Republicans demanded scrutiny of whether Senate rules had been violated by the drafting of the partisan memo, while Democrats demanded a probe of how the document fell into Republican hands. you can't make this stuff up! the libs have absolutely shame

Rockefeller is a liar and a traitor and should be kicked out of the Senate
And Senator Roberts should be b*tch-slapped for being stupid.
To: areafiftyone
A draft?!? Right. If people look at the memo closely they'll see that some of the RATS plans had already been implemented.

Okay, Kyl . . . now DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!
If Rockefeller isn't forced to resign, the Republicans will again prove they are neutered cowards. This is not only politics at its worst, it is WAR!!!!!!

I'm very afraid that, if Rockefeller has any honor at all and if he wants to avoid further shame on his name and family, he will have to resign from the Senate. Yes, it is true!

The executive branch doesn't even have to play with this committee if it doesn't want to. Maybe the DOD should send them a daily edition of the NY TIMES for their intelligence updates since that's what they go from anyway. Soldiers will die while the democrats try to regain power.

Democrats demanded a probe of how the document fell into Republican hands. On the day this story broke, Hannity implied that he had received his copy of the memo from a Democrat who was revolted by their sleazy strategy. I don't know whether it was a staffer or a member of Congress.

I see that "The Hill News" hath adopted a weird stylebook, one in which quotation marks are not used. That makes it very difficult to distinguish the reporting from what people actually said.

Democrats demanded a probe of how the document fell into Republican hands. I said this would happen!
Deal .....if we can start a probe into who on the committee wrote the memo.....and what Senators recieved a copy...and who ordered this memo to be written.

I don't know anything about Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), but it sure seems to me he's a weak willy, dumb enough to believe Rockefeller, and no fighter. Perfect match for Senator Frist, and Orin Hatch, but these pink pantied sisters are embarrassing to watch. Just imagine how Rockefeller and the democrats have laughed at them behind their backs.
A sucker might be born every minute, but do all of them have to be Republican senators?

Roberts parallel de-escalation may make it more difficult for Democrats to resume the tough course they have taken against him.
Pat just wants the rats to be NICE to him!
The work of this committee is far too important to entrust to
a limp wristed, gullible moron like him.
