I don't accept Alex Jones as an authority on anything in general and this issue in particular...

Ok----I sometimes have a problem with Alex myself..... But.......there are others that are saying the draft may have to be re-instated.

The national guard has seen a massive drop in recruitment.

People just dont want to sign up and be sent overseas.

Imagine having bills to be paid on a good salary. Then being told you have to go to the middle east and you will be paid a soldiers salary.

In other words, they're perfectly happy to take the extra money from the Guard and enjoy the prestige attached to same, as long as there is no risk of actually having to do anything beyond a weekend a month and two weeks active duty a year.

Almost all companies pay differential pay, however; if you are activated for Reserve or National Guard duty, you will get paid the difference between your civilian salary and your military pay.
