The President, on another busy day, visited Birmingham, AL, to speak at Crane Works, a heavy construction company, and then attended a Bush-Cheney fund-raising luncheon. He then attended a rally in London, Kentucky.
At the Crane Company, Pres. Bush said last week's report that the U.S. economy surged in the third quarter was good news for American workers and called on Congress to keep his administration's policies intact.
I also heard on Fox News that the President in planning on flying to CA to view the damage from the forest fires, which will allow him to spend another night at his ranch.
Enjoy your Daily Dose of Dubya, and welcome to sanity island!

Are you familiar with the legislative process? Do you know what it means to engross a bill?
I will answer my last question in case you do not yet know. Each House of our legislative bodies has to consent to the language of a bill. If they work on similar but not identical bills, as was the case for pbab, the two Houses have to go into a Conference Committee to reconcile the language into one bill. Then each House must vote on the final bill. Then the carefully-worded document goes to the printer and when this "engrossed" form is returned to the appropriate party in Congress, it is sent to the President for his signature, which finally makes it a law.
When it was announced that the second chamber of Congress passed pbab, I do not believe it was identical to the first chamber's version, which would require a Conference Committee and a revote by both chambers. We're eating up days here. The fact that we heard the announcement that the second chamber passed it did not mean it was ready for a presidential signature.
It is entirely likely that the engrossed form has not yet returned from the printer and the President cannot sign what he does not have.

***I wonder if the stinker is going to go into direct sales. I just have this gnawing feeling that CBS wants to recoup its money off the hit piece and that, while they aren't showing it *now*, it could surface at another date. I hope not.***
Sure they will. It will go to Show Time, then they'll probably put it on DVD at about $30 and call it the "banned" movie to make it more exciting.
Wait! Here's Mark (?) subbing for Rush and he says: The other networks will be screaming censorship.
He also has the head of the Media Research Center, Tim (?) on who says that it's probably the first time conservative pressure has been used. He also mentions that last night ABC had program on which denies the divinity of Jesus Christ.
He said that the letters to 100 possible sponsors from the Media Research Center, about the CBS movie, did NOT ask them to refuse to sponsor. It asked them to SEE the movie and then decide for themselves.
Tim says that Show Time should look at the movie before they accept it. And he mentioned the possibility of DVDs.
He also said that all of this will not change anything, and that the networks will continue bashing conservatives.
My summation is that our work is NOT finished.

also mentions that last night ABC had program on which denies the divinity of Jesus Christ. My Hero is surely taking a lot of hits from the media lately. These are good signs in a manner of speaking, because He and His wonderful Name have been taboo on TV for so long, excepting when used to blaspheme, that is.
When I say good signs, I mean that the Spirit of the Living God is making inroads, progress in the hearts of people now or the devil wouldn't be stirring up such outright attacks. Obviously the evil one thinks he has some latitude here, and, as all squatters do, he's challenging the real Authority in order to keep his stolen ground.
You are right, dear kitkat, our work is not done!
But I do revel in this one skirmish going to our side.

Nah, MUD, just look at it from afar. Someday they will pay and pay good. Unfortunately, it may be after they're dead. IF they ever die...their legacy will certainly live forever (sniff).

Yes, I gathered from the threads that Mike is home. What a relief and a blessing that must be for Mystery-AK.
A W doll? I hadn't seen those. Ann Coulter has one, too. You could really have a conservative collection here! Such fun. I love dolls of all kinds.
Thanks for the heads up on Laura. My ex-daughter in law and my stepgrandson's birthday is today too. On the 6th, my son celebrates his. November is a busy month! Love, Maryxxx

"IF they ever die...their legacy will certainly live forever (sniff)." To date, the Clintons' Legacy is that EffeteEliteExecutiveBranchers can commit a multitude of felonies and go 100% unpunished...that's the biggest reason we must go ahead and do what's necessary to bring them to justice in this world, and let God deal with them in the next...MUD
