I agree with that. Last week Wednesday was clear all day- hoped to have a good view of the northern lights- then clouded over just as the sun was setting. Damn Michigan weather. Now they're predicting rain all week. Probably won't see them again this time either.

Last night Art Bell claimed that the strong sun flare decreases the earth's magnetic field, weakens it momentarily and substantially. Is he hallucinating?

I am wondering how to take photos of the aurora... I have a Sony-F707 that I can take photos with. I know it can be done, I just don't know what settings to use.
