One interview said this consecration would attract many people (ie homosexuals) that would normally not attend church. I've heard that this never pans out. Pro-gay churches don't even attrack that many gays.
Seems they are more interested destroying any opposition to homosexuality they can find in the church, boy scouts etc, than they are in really belonging to those organizations.
