If we, theoretically, dropped a bomb on those people celebrating our soldiers' deaths, would it hurt our campaign to win the hearts and minds of our enemies?

Theoretically, we should all feel guilty...........for about 10 seconds.....

maybe not guilty, but deeply saddened.

The best day of my life will be when we develop cold fusion, or some other way of producing energy that gets us off oil. The middle east will revert back to the goat humping backwater nomadic past that the mentality in the region dictates.

If it wasn't for oil, they would have no money, no matter, and they could just be isolated in a box. Wait em out 20 years, til all their weapons rust, and then tell em to pound sand forever until they learn how to behave themselves.

Tet,

I always knew you were an old softie.
I agree with the 10 seconds, but that would be including intermission.

"...If we, theoretically, dropped a bomb on those people celebrating our soldiers' deaths...[sic]"

Bomb them with what? More "Culturally Sensitive Ready-to Eat-Meals"?

When we stop this stupid "politically correct" crap we will have a chance to win this war. Otherwise we are doomed.

There is no winning the hearts and minds of these people. They dont respect us at all. They see us as weak, and the truth is that we are.

This attack emboldens them further and brings more into the fold. No amount of "good will" on our part is going to reverse this. They are winning and they know it.

The ONLY way to reverse this and bring any possible measure of hope is to let the so-called moderates do it.

Bomb every single one of them until the moderates (aka sympathizers) themselves are hunting down the extremists in their own religion and either killing them or begging them to stop.

No it couldnt hurt, these people will hate us no matter what we do. Im going to come right out and say it; until the WOT is changed to be WOI (War on Islam), Iraq will become the Vietnam that Katie, Hillary, Nancy, the Nine Dwarves and Babs covet so bad. Im willing to bet my house that these weapons are being hidden and blessed by the mullahs in the mosques. Im also willing to bet the there is more than a little encouragement from the Islamic leadership. The war is against Islam, not terror-muslims are the only ones left that are really "into" terrorism anymore..
