Michael Savage suggested last week that we need a policy shift. Either go tough or go home. This moderation policy can't succeed in a wartime condition. Win it or forget it, and close the borders. Hadrian's Wall. If the Romans could build a wall across Scotland or Wales in a couple months, surely we can build an even better wall even quicker. Be sure to level the neighborhoods that support the terrorist infiltrators.

If there is a policy change it should be reviewing the reason we went to Iraq. To get rid of Saddam and his loyalists and to find WMD. Rebuilding the country in the process is just another added benefit.

I think because the Iraqi army fell away so quickly we changed our mode from warriors to humanitarian ambassadors too quickly. In the process militants, al queada and syrian guerrillas sat up shop under the radar. Now we have to regroup and go back to a major military stance.

Of course this is an opinion from an armchair rubbernecker. :)
