I always laugh when people say the government is keeping the truth secret. Since when can the governmnet keep anything secret?

Really?

That's funny, since there is nothing that our government does better than keep secrets. Especially military and national security secrets. If the government doesnt want you to know something, you just wont. Before you do, they will let you believe something that you think is the truth to keep you from your own curiousity.

Plato's Cave exists.

Maybe you're right. Can you give me an example of something the government was able to keep secret for 40 years? I can think of loads of things the government, or officials of it, wanted to keep secret but couldn't.

What about "The Pentagon Papers"? Not being provocative, just asking your opinion. I saw the recent film of the same name (knowing full well it was probably, if not certainly, leftist propaganda), and they make it seem like Ellsburg managed to outwit the government to get the report to the press.
