Will I? No. I'm a former Naval Officer, so that wont happen.
But in the spirit of this discussion, I would beg you to consider why conspiracies exist. They cannot exist without fuel. Now, the question is, why do people fuel conspiracies? Could it be that conspiracies are nothing more than a wonderful tool, which help hide truth behind more layers then are apparent?
When people discover a potential conspiracy, that is usually where the search ends. People cease to look for the truth, only the truth of the conspiracy, completely ignoring the facts before their eyes in the process that would otherwise lead to a more sound conclusion.
All we have in this particular case to work with are two plausible answers, with no one ready or willing to consider any others. Were I trying to keep a secret, it would seem to me to be a lot easier to convince people that another divergent secret exists, and point them in that direction to argue over for 40 years, while the original facts die of old age before they can be discovered.
EXCELLANT point!
