Frankly, I can only say that it's insane: a "bi-national state" in which Arabs will marry Jews and Jews will marry Arabs and (I suppose) Judaism and Islam will disappear into a triumphant upsurge of Enlightenment modernism.

The likelihood of that happening is less than zero.

Hanson is right. Anti-semitism has become popular among the intelligentsia because it is the easy way out. Actually thinking about and dealing with the Palestinian problem is inconvenient...and hard.

One might have to make value judgments, insist on civilized behavior and undertake to understand and (shudder) respect religious arguments.

The left is congenitally uncomfortable with religion in Western societies. And, in their racist way, will forgive the Muslims their exotic ways. If the question of Israel forces them to deal in religious questions and morality issues, it's easier to take a Ball Four and go anti-semitic.

It's the nature of liberals to play fast and loose with other people's money. And, now, they're playing fast and loose with other people's country.
