Gosh, Laz, I just got here. Still trying to get around that "porkies" thing in the pancakes & porkies breakfast for you. I've already rejected those soybean food product fake porkies--they're just too much like tofu turkey.
So what's this thread about exactly?

Four or five ago, someone did a parody thread, "FR in the 1930s"--anyone still have that one handy?

Why you and Statist wanted to mark up this thread I dunno...You're the guy playing at being a DIY proctologist while posting at FR; I'm just pointing it out.

Gangup-pings to bombard a viewpoint you don't like isn't very attractive, bro. If you don't like Galt's message, you debate him. Good, solid debate is stifled by gangup-pings... The operative phrase here is "good, solid debate". You can only have good, solid debate with a good, solid debater.

It's whatever you want it to be.
To me, I see the milkman having sex with my mother and my dog, and beckoning me over by offering me ice cream.
But I have severe emotional problems, so that would figure. ;)

Good, solid debate is stifled by gangup-pings, where a person is battered by six or seven posters at once. I once engaged in such tactics. I do not do that any more; I realize that drowning a man out with volume in no way adds to the quality of an argument, and in fact, dilutes it. Ahhhhhhh... The days of ferrit and marcellus. I remember them well, and actually enjoyed taking on the tag teams. Puts you in the corner most visible. And if you're good(I cannot claim), you come out the victor...

Why you and Statist wanted to mark up this thread I dunnoYou leave your one-track scent on every thread you visit, Isolationist. Plus, you happen to be wrong about 50% of the time, which doesent help keep things too peaceful.. When someone sees a wasp buzzing around, its hard to refrain from giving it a good swat.
To: Catspaw
Right here on this thread:No, I know which thread JG is referring to. It's a thread which parodies what FR would be like in the 1930's. Not what I wrote, someone else wrote this one.

So what's this thread about exactly? Dakine posted that a .223 is way better than a .308, that Sherman was too kind to Atlanta, that Terri should have her tube jerked and that Elian is better off in Cuban military school where he belongs. Nothing particularly controversial.

Yes, this article SHOULD be posted every year. Actually, it should be posted more often than that -- every time that major and uninformed attack on how JimRob runs FreeRepublic rears its ugly head.
I've been here since 1998, and I learned some things from this which I had not known prior to now. There are not many people whom I respect totally, always, and without reservation. JimRob is one of those rare few -- and I wager the same goes for the attitudes that most other Freepers have about JimRob.

Maybe someone out there bookmarked it...
I tried my best to find it on Google, and no luck.

If you see Laz's post #73, he wrote this one, but there's another "FR in the 30's" piece around here.
I like Laz's FR Back in Time piece just fine.
