Jim Cane joined FR in July, 2003. No profile. I assumed he was a DU troll simply by his tone.

If Jim is not a DU troll, then I apologize. Again, his profile contains no data, he joined in July 2003, and his comments, in my opinion, were somewhat ugly. Again, my opinion. That kind of post on a thread where so many have already expressed their delight at seeing something obviously done out of love, was not appreciated and was pretty ugly. I know a lot of Free Republic folks, marched with them in DC and here in Syracuse, and would not expect that kind of ugliness from someone of their character. Thus, the DU assumption.

Again, I apologize. As i apologized on the LOTR thread, only to continue to be harrassed and attacked by Corin and her friends, who thought it funny to put me on their ping list, etc. The Freepers I know would never do something like that. Corin seems to take issue with my posting alot of Hollywood info, I had no idea that I was not allowed to. Especially since we were asked by the FREE Republic board to become a new member of the FRN.

The Freepers I know would never do something like that.

I know a choice few who feel they are elite and untouchablewho take great pleasure in being as insulting as possible to people they don't know.
Like calling people DU trolls.
A few claim to be christians and show very little of His love.
And a few claim to know everything there is about Scada networks and RFID tags.

So, I know a few, relatively few, FReepers who get pretty ugly.
If you think you've been chewed on already, then you haven't run into the select crowd that I have.
I've learned to grow a thick skin about some things over the three years I've been here.
Had to when one dealt with Asmodeus every day.
But that's ancient history.
Try to see a bit of wisdom in these words, and try to learn from what did transpire.

Actually Jon, your problem is that you try to play politics, but your skin is way too thin. If you want to be serious about this, you have to be able to debate. And you have to be able to take a little kidding, a little mocking and more. If you can't do that then you really are in the wrong business.

And I told you the other day, your "apology" was half-assed at best. Besides, it's not really an apology if you don't stop the same behavior, now is it? Assuming someone is a DU troll because they have the balls and the brains to disagree with you is just plain stoopid on your part.

So, really, there's nothing for me to "let go." If you insist on posting your shameless vanities and if you insist on huckstering for your website, then you open yourself up to criticism.

If you don't want your words and your work to be challenged, then save them to your hard drive. Don't post them here.

If you post them here, they're fair game.

As far as my taking issue with your posts

1) you post far too many vanities linking to your own site. Try posting to a news article (Viggo said some dumbass stuff in Berlin this week, look it up, post that article and include a link to your website). If your website is the "source" for everything you post, then you're just trolling for hits.

2) The other issue is that I can disagree with you without thinking your a DU troll. Conservatives disagree on lots of issues. The beauty of FreeRepublic is that we can come here with differing views and discuss them.
