There are other ways for you to read large fonts without messing up the normal posting font.

I have a friend who uses a large flat-screen monitor with a software that turns everything big.

I'm sure that if you do some research, you will find a product that will meet your needs. The local associations of blind people (many of them are not completely blind, just legally blind) can help you if you don't like to do your own research.
