92122 zip is in an area west of the Miramar Air Station in and near a section called University City and the University Towne Center mall. The western edge of the Cedar fire got close enough to close the 805 freeway for a time (eastern edge of the zipcode area), but I don't believe that zip suffered any more than from all the smoke we have down here. Your relatives should be OK.

Ahh - University City region. No, I don't think that there was any damage there, or else it probably would've been mentioned specifically on the news. :)
