I am so sorry. I remember the Yellowstone fires and our bad fire season last year and basically they were brought under control when the weather changed at the end of the season. I would think with these fires in urban areas the FF would attack much more aggressively.
I remember that vividly. It must have been 88 or 89. I remember because I was stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska, and they decided to mobilize us to fight the Yellowstone fire. They issued us jumbo canteens, fire fighting shovels, and we were packed and ready to go, and then it started snowing. We were very proud to have been asked to go. I wish Iraq wasn't going on now. I know a bunch of sailors, marines, and soldiers would volunteer in a heart beat to go and do some shovel work.
