We have winds up to 50 mph in advance of a cold front due tomorrow night. We've had six weeks of Indian Summer with no moisture. Fire conditions are perfect.

The south fire is up to 100 acres and has caused evacuation of the exclusive Castle Pines area. It just blew up out of nowhere this afternoon.

The north fire went from arount 50 acres this morning to 1000 this evening and is threatening foothills subdivisions above Boulder.

Neither fire is anywhere near control. Probably, the best we can hope for is another bad day tomorrow and rain or snow tomorrow night.
