This guy just bolted from the live shot because the smoke came his way...the three female reporters who were closer didnt bale. LACFD lit a backfire along the perimeter of Stevenson Ranch which caused a huge flame up.....then extinguished them.....a 10 minute operation. The engines are leaving that area,....I believe the fire is headed to the Old Glory Oak Tree that dude wouldn't leave....
>>>>Micah Ohlman...what a puss....running from a live shot.
scanner= Pilot due to take retardant out in 2 min
on the rim highway at the HS. Must be where he's loading cause I don't think they need drops there.

:) Two days ago I was guilty of listening and watching that live feed out of San Diego. I've subscribed to that new station and sent other support, but have stayed off their sites and out of their way. I'm trying to do that here, but it's difficult.
Locals, please keep us out of staters' informed, if you can.

Are they not going to fight at the dam anymore? Did they bail from there too?

another big fight on Stagecrest circle.
Fire moving up close behind homes right across where the reporter is standing.

MCD
requesting
engine to Oak Springs for structure protection
dozer to Big Pine Flat
complaint that some units are not where they're supposed to be, can't spare any equipment or manpower because they're short themselves
Thought I'd offer some perspective. I live in St. George, Utah. The skyline is blotted out with smoke - no fires here so it must be California smoke blowing our way!
engine 2 going to Kentwood

Are they still going to attempt to fight the BB fire at the damn or did they leave too?
MCD
To: barrymdeep
WOW. Now that is a long way!

Haven't heard on the scanner, but awhile ago a FF was interviewed on tv. He said that dam area is a real problem -- if it goes up, the accessibility for equipment is very low.

Reporter just stated:
"cedar pines park" expected to be total loss.

it's so smoky in the Antelope Valley now I can't see the next street over anymore
To: sf4dubya
Do you know if they are still up in the area or did they bail? I don't know what to tell Nana about her house there! If they bail there is not much hope!
Thanks for the answer!!
MCD
pilot is aloft, "smoke on the top of the nob"
"I see a parking lot with some equipment"
"go past engine 4173"
does that ring any loc bells?
To: sf4dubya
one reporter said that some tankers are on hold because the airfield they were flying out of had visibility problems.
