[history]
Six months after he spoke on an aircraft carrier deck under a banner proclaiming "Mission Accomplished," President Bush disavowed any connection with the war message. Later, the White House changed its story and said there was a link.
The "Mission Accomplished" boast has been mocked many times since Bush's carrier speech as criticism has mounted over the failed search for weapons of mass destruction and the continuing violence in Iraq.

Surfing the channels tonight, I heard Chris Mathews say that White House aides were responsible for putting up the "Mission Accomplished" sign. Is he outa the loop?

They are very hard to understand, 3 years ago, the world came to know the language known as "Clintonese"
Three years after the Impeached Purjurer is gone, the left is now speaking what we have come to know as "DUbonics"

I think he could have mentioned a bit more regarding the length of their mission, and the skill and success they had in carrying it out, lending to the Mission Accomplished banner. I am sure that someone from the Administration will do so tomorrow, but it was an opportunity lost.

Matthews is always out of the loop. I'm sure he thinks Cheney did it.
The press is so juvenile. With all that's going on in the world, they choose to write about this? Criminy...any moron would realize that the MISSION ACCOMPLISHED was meant for the crew of the ship. They had been out to sea for close to a year, IIRC.
I HATE THE PRESS!!

Now FR kicks people off if they disagree with their views? There's a fine line between being a troll and simply disagreeing with the majority viewpoint.
