I SAW that debate. My sons refused to subject themselves to it. I call it "opposition research" although I had to fortify myself w/wine to lessen the effects of their whines. They're all pathetic excuses for presidential candidates.

Ain't gonna happen. Bush may throw a few more bones to conservatives, but come next November, he will remain the man who sabotaged the case against racial preferences, facilitated illegal immigration, and covered up the role of the nation (Saudi Arabia) most responsible for the worst-ever attack on America.
He may be the least bad choice next November, but that does not mean he deserves reelection on his own merits.

You're right, certain people did leave the Republican Party a long time ago. At the same time, now is not the time to marginalize those of a more conservative bent JMO, but those who personify themselves as the only ones of the "true conservative" bent, marginalizied themselves for their nanosecond of glory, and give aid to people such as Hillary and Dean.

Don't you know that Hillary running the show is much better than a "RINO". Oh, I am stealing that! (sort of)

Convince and persuade, not ridicule. Please. Ha ha ha ha ha!!!
I can't read much further into this thread.
Please? Yeah, that'll work. The ridicule will end right there. NOT! It hasn't even begun yet and it's soooo convincing too.
Bwah ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
Be sure to say that to the liberal press (what is it as it stands now?) 30 days before a primary or 60 days before the general election.
Seriously though, there's still a year to go and that's a looooong time and a heck of a lot can/will happen in political terms.

Yes! Add my vote and 14 votes from my family to his total. The Patriot Act has cost him twice that many votes from my family. A net loss for Bush since all those votes went to him last election.
If he loses Ashcroft I might reconsider.

"You tried that in '92 and you screwed up the country." Actually, I held my nose and voted fer Dubyuh's daddy in '92 despite Bush, Sr.'s willingness to scorn the RightWing in a fruitless attempt to woo the MidlquetoastModerates...we've got a year to convince Dubyuh not to follow his daddy's footsteps.

We can then discuss your choices political viability.

>>I totally agree with his answer, this country will not accept a total ban on abortion.
This country had almost 200 years without legal abortion once, so there is no reason it cannot be made illegal again. Except of course, if the pro-life party really isn't willing to fight all the way for true pro-life principles.

I think that it is very difficult to accurately judge the hearts of men...I know a lot of stubborn politicos that, after getting to actually know them, are good people afterall.
Sometimes politics enflames the worst of human nature within people, and yes, sometimes it even gets to the good guys.
To: MrLeRoy
I plan to vote for the most conservative candidate running. Whether that's George Bush is up to him.
Apparently from reading your endless spam, the sole criteria for conservatism is one who will legalize recreational poisons and prosecute anyone who interferes in the drug trade. Behold, the 'most conservative candidate' in MrLeroyland: the Trotskyite Greens Party!
To: Howlin
Anybody who doesn't go to the polls and vote for Bush is actively working for THEM.......ugh! If the libs take back the WH, thus controlling our foreign policy, we are in real trouble. A majority of Americans have no idea how much damage was done, during the 8 yrs of the Clinton Presidency.
To: KDD
Do you actually believe that Ashcroft dreamed up the USA Patriot Act all by himself?

I'll repeat it: We live in a two-party system. To ignore that fact is to do nothing but empower the Democrats. Well then, the GOP and Bush should remember not to ignore that. If anarchy with illegal immigration continues then I guess they've felt they were above the rule of law and they do not deserve conservative support.

"Mud, there's absolutely no good in starting a situation where partisan wars develop between an incoming president and an outgoing president. Once started, they would never end." During the Impeachment Debates, the argument was forwarded that if Clinton and his associates had broken the law, he should be prosecuted for those crimes. Many of us fought hard to get Dubyuh in office so that we could get an Attorney General in power who would execute the laws and prosecute the Guilty. Ashcroft's been an abysmal failure in that regard.
We've now set the precedent that Perjury, Obstruction of Justice, and Treason are unprosecutable if committed by those at the highest echelon of the Executive Branch. That cannot be spun as a good or decent thing, imho.

You're right.
I can only speak for myself, I'm not part of any "movement" or "group".
I have ONE vote. Only one.
I don't see a candidate who desrves it.

If you want a clue as to how folks will vote in the next Prsidential election, wacth the governors races in Mississippi, Louisiana and Kentucky next week. If the Republicans sweep those three and Dean wins the demo nomination, there will be no joy in marxistville in 2004.
