You live in the Valley? For some reason, I was under the impression that you were from Malibu.

Thought you might find my report from Chatsworth and video of interest. Information is only about an hour and 20 minutes old.

The upshot at that time was that the Simi Valley fire was licking at the hills around the Topanga Canyon exit of the 118 freeway. I couldn't get very close, but my video camera has a pretty good telephoto, so I was able to file a report anyway.

As of 9:30, it looked like things were calming down a bit.

When I was a kid, I went rock climbing at a place called Stony Point? It was a big rock right in the middle of the suburbs. Do you know of this place, and is it near the fire?

What is that flaming arrow-like thing pointing left in both the picture and the video?

sheesh, I read that question and it sounds like I'm asking about a host in front of the sun...

An alternative for those with a SLOW Internet connection is to download a copy of the movie to your hard drive FIRST, and then play that copy of the video from your own machine.

If you RIGHT CLICK on:

...and then chose "Save Target As" (for PCs running Windows) - you can download this video in about half an hour (while you are doing somthing ELSE) - and then you can come back later to watch the video.
GREAT WORK, daviddennis! (again)
I look forward to your documentary at the upcoming RATHER? (NOT!) FReep:

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - CBS News' Dan Rather and "Friends" executive producers Kevin Bright, David Crane and Marta Kauffman will honored Nov. 10 during the Museum of Television & Radio's annual gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

I saw that site last night and it was very very disturbing to view. The Sheriff, LAPD and LAFD are on serious tactical alert for arsonists responsible for the Val Verde fires that progressed to the Simi Valley and RimForest area.

When they find these arsonists, responsible for ruining a lot of people's lives and property, these young men should be tried under the Patriot Act as this was an act of terrorism.

A friend and I did not take video or pictures because to do such a thing would be like making a complete circus out of this calamity. We were on lookout to calculate how bad this fire was transpiring as it could literally spread into Los Angeles residential area had the wind not stayed calm. There was nothing spectatular or exciting about this event. This could happen just about anywhere out here.

My prayers are for the dead and those who lost their property and everything they ever worked for. God will surely make those people responsible for all this pay dearly.
