Was it a satellite truck or "just" a microwave van? Either way, it likely contained well over $100K worth of equipment. Whether he gets in trouble will depend on whether his superiors wanted him to be out there that close to the fire, or if he browbeat them into letting him stay in that location far longer than they wanted him to.
