Have you ever heard the phrase "You can get more flies with honey?" Arguing with folks who clearly don't want to hear your POV is counterproductive to what you want to accomplish. If you have serious concerns I suggest you address them politely in another forum when this life- and property-threatening emergency is over. Just MHO.

I hear you. Nobody wants to discuss the big picture before, during or after. It is preferred to just let the government/media tell us that it was some nutty hiker and then the counselors will hug us.
