The problem when people ignore the evac is when:
1)They become overwhelmed by smoke and/or fire and then decide they want to be rescued thereby putting firefighters/emerg personel in danger.
2)They have kids who stay, then everyone gets overwhelmed by smoke or fire and dies.
3) When they do die, everyone is upset because the authorities didn't do something and these people died for a house...a house!

My precious valuables are in a firesafe. They are cheap compared to your "priceless possesions".

The rest goes in the trucks if things start looking bad.

I can rebuild my home. I would not send my family away while I risk DYING and leaving them forever so I could try to save my home with a garden hose...

That is your right. It is also your right to wait for the police to arrive while you are being mugged, robbed, or assaulted. Others, like myself, believe it is their reponsibility to protect themselves and their property. It is also their right.
