The mountain section is rural. Chatsworth though is right north of the San Fernando Valley though. There are a bunch of homes in the hills, but not too many. It's north of the valley basically.

That's what I was thinking. Sounds very suburban for these fires. Close to hills, but still.

I'm from Texas and have never been to southern California so I have a question. Is the burning area mostly grass or wooded? I've always pictured it as mostly grass.

The news coverage is pretty sparse. I guess if Koby Bryant or Scott Peterson were the fire starters they would be all over it. grrrrr.
