I wondered if you could see it because they said it is getting blacker now as the fire spreads. How close is it to where you live? No, it's definitely closer, and the smoke cloud is HUGE. I could barely see it this morning. Still can't really smell it though.... it's not that close. I am no where near evacuating, although I AM thinking about it....
I have friends in Chatsworth and Box Canyon who I can't get a hold of.

All I know is that here in Santee, the sky to the east, west and north are getting darker by the minute. You can hardly breath outside.
All my neighbors that evac'd yesterday have returned for the most part but people are getting nervous again because of the thickening smoke.
Its very still now.. no wind at all and thats a good thing. I am wondering if the gathering darkness (sorry, that sounds really melodramatic) is just the smoke settling due to the stillness.
I can find no info about my area on any news channel or site.
But Grey Dufis is speaking now so we're undoubtedly saved! (ahem)
