Jesus Christ! It's hard to believe. Is their house at the outer edge of the development? I am not getting a lot of info here at work. I suppose I could plug in the little t.v. and see what news I can get.
My prayers for your family.

Alpine is East of San Diego, off Interstate 8, near Cleveland National Forest.

Have you heard anything about Rancho Bernardo? We have coworkers who have already lost homes in Tierrasanta and Scripps, but others are up the road in Rancho Bernardo next to the golf course there. It's not that far from Scripps Ranch, but we haven't heard anything. Nobody's at work at Miramar today, they were told to stay home. Can't reach anyone...

FF is prepared to evacuate North East of Escondido... God help us!!! If the fire broke through the ridge, we got to go.
Paradise Valley Fire Update
PARADISE VALLEY FIRE STATUS IN ESCONDIDO AND WEBSITE INFORMATION The Escondido Fire Department reports that no homes have been lost in Escondido as of this time. The western front of the fire in Escondido reached the top of a ridge at Daley Ranch and defensive efforts are reducing the chance of further spread to the west. Residents in the area of Valley Center Rd and Foxley Dr/ Lake Wohlford are still not being allowed to return to their homes. Valley Center Rd is still closed for eastbound traffic from Escondido to Valley Center (closed at Washington Ave and Valley Pkwy).
Residents living in the area north of North Avenue and east of North Broadway are being allowed to return to their neighborhoods; however, they should be ready to leave if weather conditions worsen or they are advised by law enforcement to leave. Residents of Hidden Trails and other eastern portions of the city are allowed to return home and they too should be ready to leave if weather conditions worsen or they are advised by law enforcement to leave. The evacuation center at Escondido High School will remain open. The public number for EHS is 760.291.4034.
Fire Department officials are reporting that there is no containment on the fire at this time.

yw; keep watching and posting CHP info if you can.....it may be helpful to someone. there's basically a news blackout out there, I've heard several callers complaining they don't know nothing because nothings on the news, even in their areas.

Does anyone have any information on the Mt Woodson area of Ramona? My brother lives up there with his family, and I haven't been able to get through either by land phone or cell? Any info would be very much appreciated.

When I read the story of how the San Bernardino Forest was attacked by beetles and the dead trees/underbrush were not cleared because of the enviornmentalist, I wanted to scream. It is so beautiful going up into the mountains and because of the idiot envioronmentalist got anything they wanted under Clintons, these beautiful forest are on fire.
Disgusting!
My heart goes out to the people of SoCal who have lost their homes and been affected.
Tired of hearing about what the RAT candidates had to say last night too!
