The current leading fire origin story going around is a lost hunter firing a flare gun last night up near Ramona.

But that didn't start the Valley Center, Lakeside, Alpine, and/or Chula Vista fires.

I'm just reporting what is being reported, about the hunter's flare gun.

This AM I saw close clear video on TV of trees wildly blowing around against powerlines, and sparks were cascading down like Roman candles. They said this was happening all over the place. Seems possible to me.
