INFO ON GEORGE GREER as PC County Commissioner
-----(text:)-----
"George Greer was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 1984 when he defeated Gabriel Cazares, a Democrat. In Greers announcement for the campaign, in a story by Howeard French in the Clearwater sun, June 28, 1984, Greer said, We must make our beaches more acessible to our citizens. We do not need fencnes around public parks. This was a project he found important to a growing number of leisure-time athletes, of which he was one.
A runner of marathons, Greer was responsible for planning a run by county officials and others to mark the end of Pinellas Countys 75th year Diamond Jubilee Celebration. He personally carried the torch for the first mile.
Greer was born in New York City in 1942, moving with his parents to Pinellas County in 1946. He received his law degree from the University of Floridy in 1966 and practiced law in Clearwater.
Very early in his term as commissioner, Greer recorded his anti-stadium stand. In a story by Kelly Carson in the Clearwater sun, Nov. 28, 1984, Greer said, I would love to see a stadium, but not with public money . . .If we could find something that everyone [on the commission] supports, it would be a 5 - 0 vote, no question. Greer served as chairman of the commission in 1987 and 1992. In 1992 he retired from his position as county commissioner. He successfully ran and won a seat on the Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court Bench."

Note -- In most of these bios party affiliation must be inferred -- but here, we read that he defeated a (one-term w/longer bio, fwiw, p 93) Democrat.
Greers bio includes no info on his memberships or community involvement, rather takes space with two newspaper quotes. Note: He was elected to two terms.
I pray that Judge Greer does good for Terri now despite his very bad decisions over the years.
May he be blessed with godly, Solomon-like wisdom and the courage to do the right thing for Terri.
May Terri be finally get her advocate and be restored to her family.
Thanks and prayers for all who are working for Terris good.
from post 1092 Pt 1 Fr. Rob's http://www.thrownback.blogspot.com/ :
I would add that this was not the last of Michael's attempts to cause Terri's death by denying medication for perfectly treatable ailments. When Terri developed pneumonia earlier this year, Michael's attorney George Felos asked the judge if medication could be denied to Terri for the pneumonia. He wanted her to be removed from the hospital, returned to the hospice, and "allowed" to die "naturally".
Fortunately, even Judge Greer thought this beyond the pale and ordered her treatment continued.
I don't think that Judge Greer even has Terri's latest court cases. But, I hate to tell you that HE DIDN'T KEEP HIS PROMISES ABOUT THE GULF BEACHES. You cannot even see the Gulf unless you locate a public parking lot and pull off Gulf Blvd.
He was a zoning commissioner too and LOOKS LIKE HE DID LOTS OF ZONING FOR BIG COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES ON ALL THE GULF BEACHES.
Now, I'm mad at him again and we've still got all those Petitions to Recall him trickling his way. LOL
