Everyone is making such a big deal out of this. He was saying that he had dealt with having put his parents in a Hospice. Why is that so noteworthy?

He said nothing about having keep food and water from them. That is an inference many here are drawing, when there was no implication of withholding of food and water the implication was that he had his parents in a hospice at the end of their lives.
