"I was also expecting that a GAL would be appointed rather more quickly." I think we were all expecting that the murderer would be replaced as Terri's guardian right away. I know that I certainly wasn't ready to hear that his power over her remained in place.

Well the GAL is simply a professional busybody with investigatory powers. He or she can tell Jeb and the judge what was found, but can't actually trump a court decision. (Whereas that state agency for the disabled, CAN)
