Howard Dean is correct in saying that the Democratic Party has lost its soul. Cut throat politicians interested only in their own advancement have successfuly run the idealists out. Humphrey, Mondale, Carter, O'Neil, etc had an idea of where they wanted to take America (I disagreed with that idea, as did most Americans). Now the party is controlled by the Clinton gang which has an idea of where they want America to take them. Just look at what Algore did to Bill Bradley in 2000. The main stream rank and file drawn to the party by FDR has abandoned it to the left wing kooks led by Nancy Pelosi. Nothing illustrates this more than the fact that the GOP is taking over the South.
