I literally almost broke into tears when I saw the first glimpse of this thread. My mother's Delta flight just took off at 8:45 pm for Newark out of Florida. I had this glimpse of an air crash as soon as the thread came up.

I now return to a regular heartbeat.

This quote from the article makes me think the situation is not serious and probably does not involve Islamic terrorists:

I don't know if they are updating this as it happens, but that's what it says right now.

The local news here in the Piedmont triad (home of PTI airport) was that a couple had been detained by security because of the zipper on the wife's boots. The plane took off 7 minutes early, and because of the security detention, the couple missed the flight. Hubby became angry with the ticket agent and demanded that the plane be returned to the gate so they could board. The agent's response was "The only thing that will bring that plane back would be if there was a bomb on it." To which the hubby replied, "Ok, there's a bomb on it."

The stupidity on both sides of the ticket counter is astounding.
