If God takes her, I frankly hope it will be tonight before the Senate can finish up this "CYA" bill and that is all I believe this bill was intended for in the first place. Please, please view this as an amazing victory. I do. Terri's parents, her friends, the terrishope YAHOO board, this board, and so many other people made this improbable intervention happen. It is PHENOMENAL. I devoutly hope that the Senate does what's right, Terri hangs on and she is reunited with her parents.
If that does not happen, we have still participated in a revolution. We can do it again. The law in Florida needs to be fixed. The concept of persistent vegetative state needs to be reviewed. And the idea that food and water can be withheld from someone simply because his or her quality of life is adjudged insufficient, particularly by someone who might profit from that person's death, has been exposed as abhorrent.
Those of you who have been fighting for Terri accomplished this with relatively little press coverage. Just force of will and a commitment to what is right. I think it is awe-inspiring and I salute you.

These are all good points, SeattleTiger. I wonder why the Senate could not have stayed around and voted on the House bill tonight. There was no need to adjourn.
Actually I urged Bush in an email in August to call a special session to propose a bill just like this. He did not discuss my idea in his reply; he just acknowledged the receipt of the email.
This should have been done weeks ago. Government is inefficient, slow-moving, and often an agent of injustice even as it tries to correct a wrong.

It is truly phenomenal. It is almost a miracle in my opinion. we just need one more...

SO DO I!!!!!!
I just got home from work, having last posted or read anything at 2:30 PM Pacific.
It was with a heavy heart that I logged on, and as is my habit, went first to World Net Daily for the latest. I fully expected to see the usual crushing news, and practically fell out of my chair when I saw this DRAMATIC development! THANKS BE TO GOD!
INCREDIBLE AND WONDERFUL DEVELOPMENT.
PRAYERS CONTINUING FOR THE SENATORS.
May God grant them widom, courage, and compassion.
