I have decided not to vote again.I very much sympathize with those who are disenchanted with the two dominant parties. But I strongly urge you not to give up on voting. There are good strong conservative candidates and parties (such as the Constitution Party) that would stand up to these kinds of horrors. You may ask what possible chances they have of winning, and it's true that the chances are rather slim. But since you've resigned yourselves not to vote at all, you're certainly not going to be making things any worse by voting for one of them. It's better than silence, by far.

I agree wholeheartedly with inquest's post. I would add that, after you've done your homework and voted for the best candidate possible (whatever party, except the 'RATS, of course -- hehehe), then do everything within your power to make them STAND AND DELIVER. Be very vocal, be loud, write/email/fax your rep constantly, letters to the editor. Call your reps regularly (TOLL FREE # TO THE CAPITOL 877-762-8762 -- write it in your phone book and use it often). Light fires under their butts. Visit their home offices. Show up at rallies. Talk to your friends and neighbors. Join your voices with others (as a born-again Christian, my favorites are Dr. Dobson, Chuck Colson, Jay Sekulow and Concerned Women for America -- there are plenty of secular, conservative groups).
You can't just give up. I, for one, ain't going down without a fight, dadgummit!! America needs us.
