Well that certainly drives the point home! Thank you for posting that. It should be emailed to every church in the world, starting with the Vatican.

Terri's parents have offered to take her home and the guardian will not allow it. All that is in the court file. He just wants her gone.

I'm downlaoding the videos now.

Have you read the affidavit of Carla Iyer. Terri's nurse? It's chilling.

Death by dehydration and starvation is the most brutal, inhumane, and pain-inducing way to kill any living creature. The USDA prohibits the withholding of food and water from farm animals. Terri Schiavo is not less than a farm animal.

She has been termed "comatose", "vegetative", and "on life-support" to distract from the fact that she is NOT terminally ill to the unquestioning public. Bottom line - this is euthanasia of a person considered a burden to another. Aterall, if she is out of the way, the husband can reap his monetary compensation for suffering the loss of his spouse and her income. Oh, please! So busy suffering that he has a fiance and family started.

Since when are tube feedings classified as "life support"?

i think there are several doctors that can attest to her ability to be rehabilitated somewhat. But according to what I've read 1. the husband will not allow any rehabilitation, and 2. any doctor who diagnoses her as more than 'brain dead' isn't welcome in the courts.

i work in a nursing care facility, and let me tell you, this girl is bright and vibrant. i've seen people in comas, braindead, tubefed, you name it. what i have NEVER seen is a husband so callous and disregarding of human life, especially his wife's life.

there is a woman who lives in the home who really reminds me of terri, her husband was just in a month ago and decorated her room with an anniversary banner, pictures and flowers to commemerate their anniversary. i have a newfound deep respect for this man. he truly LOVES her and i just don't see any kind of love in this case we are discussing. if terri's husband truly loved her he would be using the money appointed to her to get her the best care, rehabiliation and most importantly, RESPECT her parent's love for their daughter.

all i really see, cut and dried, is a greedy man who wants "the b*tch to die" as he said, so he can take what is left of the money and live guilt free with his new lady.

but that's just my opinion of course.

I think a man who goes raging in for days on end asking the nurses if that "b****" has died yet, and cursing them when they said no, has problems beyond any that come of wanting the best for his ward and wife. He's gone on to make another family. He should not be her guardian.

When she was told that she will be starved to death, she became very distressed and tried to get out of the chair.

She's not in the persistant vegetative state that you and I both agree would be intolerable; she responds to people, and likely could have been restored to substantial function if she'd been given therapy. She has not even been given assisted communication devices that may have made it possible for her to express her desires on that point and many others. And she was denied the exercise of religion.

Jim I agree with YOU when the case is as you say--a persistant vegetative state and when the person left a clear, explicit living will stating that food and water ought to be withheld in certain circumstances. Terri's case simply does not fall into any of those categories. I approached this from your point of view, but I have come to believe that there is no evidence to support that Terri herself would wish to die now, and huge evidence that her husband is using the state, the doctors, and the police to get away with murder.

Her parents want to take her home and care for her at their expense--and now they cannot even see her, even though she lights up and responds to them when they do. They violated a judge's order and videotaped her being responsive. Why would a judge be so determined to prevent the truth from getting out? It's something to think about.

Mr. Schiavo could divorce her then and get on with his life. Instead he wants her to die, and ASAP--and there is a lot of testimony out there that suggests criminal intent...testimony the judges have ignored.

To me the clincher is the demand for immediate cremation without autopsy. One side has done everything to conceal the facts, and one side has had to break the law to expose the facts. This really troubles me and it should trouble everyone.

The test being used is the ability to get a spoon to one's own mouth: if she could do that, she could live. I am on the slow road to that condition myself, and just about anybody could wake up one morning or have a crash or a stroke and be there. Every baby starts there. It is a test that has only a little bit to do with quality of life--a test neither Christopher Reeves nor Stephen Hawking could pass.

It is such a simple black and white question.

Hastening the death of this woman is murder, any other platitudes such as 'oh, the cost' or, 'it would be more humane to kill with a lethal injection' only obfuscate the fact that it is still murder.

Her parents have begged for this, even on Hannity and Colmes the dad said they'd give him money/whatever!

Do a search for my posts, there is a lot of garbage involved. Hospice connection with husband's attorney, hospice employed felons, more...if you care to look it up

Prayer does change things, but David didn't defeat Goliath by praying alone, the walls of Jerich didn't fall by prayer alone. I read this am that Gov has received 130,000 petitions, what a pitifully low number. I have called twice and called Crist's office once. I've been calling my local news stations, so aggravated that they were not reporting facts. I think they were a bit surprised when I said it appeared that they were just editing the AP reports. I believe that action has to take place for Terri and the Gov is the only one who legally can do that.

Were you aware that there is evidence that her husband may have been the reason for her condition in the first place?

My opinions on this come from watching my father die of liver cancer. He was and Ex-Marine and a Korean war veteran. He raised 5 children, financed and saw us all though college. He was a loving Dad to us all. My mother is a registered nurse and was with him the minute he passed, along with me and one of my sisters. The last month he was alive was a lesson in dignity and humility to us all. But he most of all, his facial looks to me the last few weeks of his life said it all ....

I know. I feel the same way. But Terri isn't terminal. She could live a normal life span, and if she got therapy she might even be restored to normal or at least much better, communicative and self-sustaining function. Believe me, I'm with you on cases like your father's--100%. This case is very different. It does take a little research to assure oneself of that because the other side has done their best to paint a lying picture of Terri's condition.

This is NOT a loving husband trying to do what his wife would have wanted. This is a man who may well have tried to kill her, using the courts to finish the job so he can keep his money and legitimize his adultery.

If you FReepmail Republic, she can confirm Dandy's name. One FReeper did arrive and is staying with floriduh voter ~ she's the one who gave Terri's Mom some lotion, which she will use to rub on Terri's feet. The family is grief stricken beyond belief. If you have a ping list, please ping FReepers to the Prayer Thread for Terri Schindler Schiavo. Prayers and messages will be printed for the family ~ may our words be of some comfort in their hour of need.

Please remember that all I know about this I learned from the internet, and mostly from FR since NOBODY ELSE is covering the matter. I could be repeating a lie. I just don't think so...it looked like a real affadavit.
