Whether it is a lie as to whether Terri is in a persistent vegetative state is something that's outside the court order and court rulings. And I was discussing the court order and court rulings. The Schindlers have tried their best to get the ruling that Terri is in a persistent vegetative state reversed, but have been unsuccessful. Their lawyers have said, in essence, there's nothing more they can do, that they've exhausted all legal options. The only thing they are litigating is whether Michael Schiavo can have Terri cremated.

When I watched Terri's sister and brother on Fox last night, they came close to saying they intend on suing Schiavo and others in a wrongful death suit, so I can only guess the litigation over Terri won't be over for a long time.

No, it won't, nor should it be. But we are supposed to have a system of checks and balances in place to prevent courts (or any other branch of government) from overstepping their authority and that system is badly broken. It will ultimately fall to us, the people, to do something about it, because those in power, of either political party, seem to have another agenda at work and the people be d*mned. Of course, whether WE even have the will and the guts any more as a people still remains to be seen.

""This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it." - Abraham Lincoln (first inaugural address)
