I didn't mean to sound condescending about hunting deer with a .22 rifle.
The fact is that I've killed more mule deer with a .22 rifle than with any other gun, but I always picked my shots very carefully. I've never lost a deer.
In West Texas I carried a .22 rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun in my truck all the time.
In the evening when the blue quail are out on the gravel roads eating gravel, I'd shoot one quail through the body and let the others gather round to watch it kick.
Then I'd make a skillet shot across the top of the covey and get ten or twelve with one shot.

Yeah, I know, that's not very sportsman like, but I always hunted for meat, not for sport.

Sometimes a mule deer would walk out on the road and I'd take him (or her) down with a clear head shot if he/she was less than fifty yards and standing still.
I used .22 long rifle hollow points with which can drop a mulie with a heart shot if you know exactly where to hit.

I never hunted horns. I never found a way to cook 'em.

Not trying to tell you what to do, or mind your business, but as a cautionary note, shooting big game with a 22lr. is illegal in Texas.

Cob, you've been shooting with Christine, I believe. She and her husband, Bill, went to stay with Rick Stanley and his wife this weekend...

A little bit ago, law-enforcement of some kind were chasing Christine, Bill, Pam and Rick in their vehicle. They crashed into their vehicle trying to stop it, then crashed into it again when Rick was trying to turn into his home to get them to safety. Dozens of armed law-enforcement caught him in the open with guns drawn. Christine, Bill and Pam released, but Rick was taken. Christine says they do not want help as far as a seige go, but want council. Any Pact member, or non-pact member with law experience is requested to contact Christine, Bill or Pam, however you can. As for those that will respond as a Pact member, or non-Pact as well, you know what to do. And you know who are responsible. Do what you feel you must. Anyone that has access to the SCOOP software needs to post this information there.

Our governments are losing their minds over an armed population.

Stay safe, stay armed.

Wake up, America.

And yet you suggest that he use a .50 BMG? I'm shocked I tell you. NOT! :)
