I agree with the 10/22 recommendation but for cost effectveness I persionally prefer the Browning Buck mark for the .22 handgun it is a matter of personal taste. S&W also makes a good .22 cal semi-auto and there are others including Beretta's that can be excellent.

Agree on the inexpensive .308

I've been looking at the Walther P22 lately. I've got a Ruger 22/45 but it's just too heavy for carrying in a day pack and is about the size of a Colt Commander.

This weapon is very versitile, can be had with a compensated barrel, threaded barrel, 3 1/2 or 5 inch...nice little package, but the trigger is attrocious.

I'd appreciate any and all input on this weapon.
