All humanity has botched this one. Has anything like this ever happened here? Is this what remains of "Thou Shall Not Kill" and "Equal Protection" under the Laws?

The reason why humanity botched it, is because we didn't care. It is important to note that we are all responsible in understanding our governments, the actions of the courts, legislature and governors, and the laws.
Because one day, we may all be lamenting "It isn't fair!", when the laws are applied to us in an unjust manner.
