What is it about women named Barbara (or variations thereof), anyway? About 9/10ths of them are nothing but woman-shaped spawn of Satan.

You have an ex-girlfriend named Barbara too, I see.

Catch a Clue? You don't know the difference between state legislatures and federal legislatures, and you think I need a clue?

Man, that's some really good stuff you must be smoking.

"Santorum is a great senator, but he'd be eaten for lunch if he had to run in Cali!"

doubt. That's the point. The CA GOP would do everything in its power to sabotage him.

There ya go again with your excuses.. .a "true" conservative by your definition can't win because the state party would sabotage him.... excuse after excuse after excuse, that's all this 10-15% of the Cali population that considers themselves the "RIGHT" kind of conservative has to offer.

A hard social conservative can't win statewide in the existing California environment... you can deny it all day long but history shows again and again it can't happen! Santorum wouldn't win in Cali not because he'd be undermined by the party, but because the electorate would not support him! You don't win in California without carrying votes in the Bay and LA... period... you may not like it, but that's just reality, its how the population breaks down.

Einstein has a great quote. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result."

You RINOs are insane.

Sounds to me like you are the one that's insane, you got nothing in the win column in half a generation plus, and you keep putting up putzes like Simon or 2 time also rans like McClintock and think this time things are going to be different. They wont! California isn't Iowa! Sounds to me like you are the ones living out the definition. I told you and those ranters like you McClintock was a 10-15% on election day, but no, I was wrong, he was rallying, he was going to win... I said, he'll carry the same 10-15% that have been keeping the California republican party from statewide wins for a decade.... I was called every name in the book... I said, he won't get one vote outside the same 10-15% groupies he'd have gotten no matter what.... and election night, I was proven right.... and of course then you and yours were rapid to once again pile on the same old tired excuses, instead of facing realities of the electorate of the state you live in.

Its not my fault you live in California, and that the state electorate there is by an large socially liberal, and that social liberal electorate skewers repeatedly people who base their campaigns on social conservatism... You may not like it, but that's the reality of the state.

Until you realize that you have to put forward canidates who can actually WIN something you just become more and more marginalized, you won't have any say in anything. That's reality. I hate Boxer, Davis was a boob, but the best the R's could do was SIMON? Come on... he was your guy wasn't he? he had no business fishing in a barell with a shotgun, much less running for governor. McClintock he was your man too wasn't he? So he's now a 3 time statewide loser....

You can call me names all day long for pointing out the political realities of the state to you, but it doesn't change the facts. And there is another definition too you might want to remember before you go off on your next emotional outburst. A Zealot is a person who doesn't know who their friends are.

These probably mean very little at this stage of the game... Heck President Bush's reelect numbers aren't that great at this point either...

Boxer when compared to a generic wins but when compared to a specific name she wins by a larger number. She has only to gain a few points to be over 50% whereas any competitor has a much steeper hill to climb. Her 45% maybe nothing more than a reflection of the party registration percentages in CA at this time.

The biggest problem with Boxer is that she doesn't just affect California - her actions affect the entire country....

These early polls-estimates-quesses mean nothing. I never saw a poll that showed Arnold winning by 48% before the recall. If the republicans can get it together we could get rid of Boxer.
