This is sort of like overtime. My ticker is running the overtime clock. This is really intense! Buy you a beer? I'm going for another.

He was, probably, the second best pitcher in the game when they switched him to the outfield permanently. The best was Walter Johnson? In the 1917 AL All Star game Ruth pitched against Johnson in Fenway. The All Star outfield was perhaps the greatest ever assembled, Cobb, Speaker and Shoeless Joe. Ruth and the Sox won the game 1-0.

You know who would like to see a 15 or 16 inning game tonight?---I hope not. But, then again. I don't want the Red Sox to lose in the bottom half of the inning if we don't get anything . . . so, we'll see.

Runner on second. A Walker base hit will put the Sox ahead.

No matter what happens in this half of the inning, they better have Wakefield in there next. Win....lose.....he has earned it.

"Bad move taking out Tek."Think it means they're bringing in Wakefield?

If it's the Yankees, the Marlins will win it in 6. If it's the Sox, it'll go 7 (laws of baseball) and the Marlins will win game 7 (laws of baseball.) Seriously, the Marlins have played the best postseason baseball this year. I don't see that changing.

Damon grounds out. Jackson to 2nd. Walker up.

Come on, a base hit. That's all we need. A blooper, a broken bat over an infielder's head, something.
damon with another of his many weak squibs to 3rd base.

4. Boston Red Sox (143 letters)
Because they invented the art of choking and continue to create new and intriguing ways to choke almost every year, including firing their manager at midseason, when he's got a winning record. Add in Buckner, Bucky and Mike, Game 7 of the '75 Series ...

After having my heart broken year after year by my favorite sports franchise, I have to pick the Red Sox as the biggest choke artists.
It could be bottom of the ninth with three outs, the Sox up by a run with Pedro Martinez on the mound and my grandmother at bat, and I am still thinking they will find a way to blow it. This is the year though ... sigh.

Think it means they're bringing in Wakefield? No, it means we have an idiot manager.
