It's also irrelevant to me whether you consider this some sort of rhetorical victory. In short, I don't care what your belief system might be - it is you who appears threatened by my absence of belief.

My analogy with the Iliad and the Odyssey is no less relevant whether or not the Greeks believed their own mythology or not. The point at hand is that the accuracy of historical details in both the Iliad/Odyssey and the Hebrew Testaments do not establish the accuracy of metaphysical embellishments in either account.

If the Greeks chose to disbelieve the embellishments in their own writings, then they are simply wiser than those who would believe the embellishments in the Testaments despite any empirical evidence toward their accuracy.
