Dolley Madison nee. Todd(1798- 1849) was born in Guilford County, North Carolina.

By every illustration of her she appears to be a bit plump and rosy cheeked. But I believe that's how they liked them in that day. Certainly every freedom loving 2nd Amendment supporter should be extremely grateful to her husband. That man more than any other is the reason the 2A is in the Bill of Rights.

And they say she's still with us... Dolley Madison The irrepressible Dolley Madison is best known today for rescuing the Gilbert Stuart painting of George Washington from the White House before the British burned it down during the War of 1812. But in ghost lore, she’s best known for reportedly encountering two gardeners during the Wilson administration a century later. First Lady Edith Wilson asked the two to move the fabled Rose Garden, which Madison had created and nurtured. The gardeners were reportedly met by an angry Dolley. Today, the Rose Garden remains where Dolley Madison wanted it.

Actually, George Mason also played a huge role in the Bill of Rights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goGkBHx8LHA

If you want to read a good book about James and Dolley you should read “James and Dolley Madison America’s First Power Couple” by Bruce Chadwick.
