DeSantis leads among voters who choose the economy, taxes and spending and illegal immigration as their top concerns.
That above is the part of the poll that carries the most significance. IOW, voters are not going to throw away the good times in favor of a socialist just because he's black.
Gillum is the favorite of voters who emphasize education, school safety, the environment, social issues and government ethics and corruption.
Those above are good issues to run on, but, they're not game winning issues. People usually go for the issues that hit closest to home, such as good economies and plenty of available jobs.
Sixty-three percent (63%) of Florida voters rate the U.S. economy good or excellent these days,
Again, the pocketbook issue, and the one that interests voters the most.
while just eight percent (8%) describe it as poor.
No doubt, there will always be ignorant people among voters, and there will always be those that will deny a great economy when they see and feel it, just because they can't see themselves voting anything different than "democratic party".
Sixty-three percent (63%) also offer a positive assessment of their own personal finances;
The pocketbook issue again, and the one that can and will drive people to make the right decisions, and not vote to hurt themselves with socialism and somebody that will take their jobs and good times away.
11% say their finances are poor.
That again, is those in denial and who could never see themselves voting for anybody except a democrat, even if they know they will get hurt by doing so.
SO......
What we have above, is a poll that reaches a result that is completely the opposite of how the people feel; iow, the numbers don't jive with what the people seem to indicate.

I believe a lot of states used to have a one-year residency requirement before voting. The US Supreme Court invented a law that said only 30 days could be required. Dunn v. Blumstein, 1972.

What are you talking about .
Trump does need to stop picking fight about nothing and
stay focused .
I support Trump .
I am telling you the poll had nothing to do with Trump .
Read the poll details .
The poll was conducted on Sept 10 and 11 .
The results are real garbage because. no one
knows who is on the ballot .
Its too early in the race .

I’m in Lee County in SWFL. you’d be hard pressed to find a Gillman sign here but you never know.

Well...they love Obama, which I’ve never understood.

Look, I live in Florida, and I watch cable news a lot. Yet, I know nothing about how lefty socialist Gillum is or that he is under FBI investigation, from ANY TV Ads I have seen! And most voters are less informed than me.
If I did not log on to FR and other conservative internet sites, I would think Gillum is just another run of the mill democrat.
DeSantis needs to spend yuge amounts on TV Ads painting the real Gillum.

DeSantis is a weak candidate. In 2016 before Rubio dropped out then back in he was in a 3 way race for Senate with Carlos Beruff (who stayed in then lost to Rubio)
Before he became a Trump fan, DeSantis was IMO a swamp dwelling neocon stooge.
Anyone who has been paying attention the last 10+ years has seen a big shift in FL demographics. The state has gotten noticeably browner, and there has been a big influx for people from the NE.
It hasn't been Margaritaville for a long time.

Did not know that - will have to look up the details of that one, seems like this is something that isn’t any business of the feds, the states should be able to make their own rules

From what I have seen, DeSantis indeed lacks political charm & picking right issues, like Donald Trump did during 2016.
