I believe that is the reason Barbara Bush was against him running for President. She knew her sons’ limitations.

I had not thought of that. You may very well be right about that. Barb knew. That is the only sensible reason for her to throw a boulder in his path, with that otherwise goofy remark of hers. I think she made that remark on more than one occasion.
